Did you know there is an alternative to Chemotherapy?

05 December, 08:12, by admin

A very dear and trusted friend of mine who is also in to herbal alternatives sent me this article she found on the John Hopkins’ site. It’s all about an alternative method to treat and or prevent some kinds of cancer.

After years of telling people there is only one way to treat cancer, JOHNS HOPKINS has said there is an alternative to chemotherapy.

I am just going to post the article here and you can read it at your liesure but I wouldn’t wait to long it might save you or someone you care about from one of the most deadly illnesses there is.

” F.Y.I.
Take (1) thing at a time, try to cut out something you’re doing, or not doing……………..
Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not
show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion.
When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells
in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect
the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be
destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental,
food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet
and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells
and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow,
gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver,
kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and
damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce
tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not
result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and
radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed,
hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and
complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and
become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause
cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by
not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

A. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one
important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like
NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is
harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses
but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to
make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea
salt.

B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk
and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being
starved.

C. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is
acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than
beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth
hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people
with cancer.

D. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds,
nuts and a little fruit help put the body into an alkaline environment.
About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh
vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and
reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance
growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy
cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including
bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day.
Enzymes are destroyed at Temperatures of 104 degrees F
(40 degrees C).

E. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green
tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties.
Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins
and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become
putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining
from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein
walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy
the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Floressence,
Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the
body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements
like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death,
the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or
unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and
positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger,
unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic
environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to
relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.
Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to
the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to
destroy cancer cells.

CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL, U S – PLEASE READ

1. No plastic containers in microwave.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This info
is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.

Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.
Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases
dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle
Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He
talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we
should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic
containers.
This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the
combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the
food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends
using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for
heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So
such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be
removed from the container and heated in something else.
Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just
safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food
restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper.
The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.
Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as
dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave.
As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to
actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.
Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life”.

Halloween has always been my second favorite day of the year. I loved trick or treating when I was a child, I loved takin my daughter trick or teating when she was a child and now I love seeing all the little ones in their custumes wondering what kind of thing will open the next door they go to, Boo!

We had a pretty good Halloween this year. Sixteen little monsters and princesses came to get tricked or treated. That’s 16 more than I had last year, LOL :) .It’s nice to see the parents dressing up too, even if it is only a mask hat, or wig.

While I am here I will post a couple of more Elderberry recipes. Let me know what you would like information on and I will find it and post it here or post links to sites you can look on yourself.

Elderberry Flower Fritters from Alan JoellenbeckÂ

Pick complete flower heads, wash and drain them. Holding the flower head upside down, dip them into a thin pancake batter. Set the flower head in hot oil and cook until light brown, remove and drain on a paper towel. Sprinkle the baked flower head with powdered sugar and enjoy. One may also add cinnamon to the sugared flower heads if desired.Elderberry Jelly from Alan Joellenbeck 2 quarts elderberries with stems removed 2 cups water 1 box pectin 5 cups sugar Simmer the elderberries in the water until berries are soft. Strain through a cloth bag. Be sure you have 3½ cups of juice; if not, pour a little water through the crushed berries. Return the 3½ cups juice to pan. Add pectin to the juice and bring to a boil. Stir in the sugar and bring to a full rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat, skim and pour into hot sterilized jars. Seal with hot paraffin immediately. Well have to get some promoting done so I will be back as soon as I can to see what you want to learn more about or what you would like to tell us about. Now That You Know…….

05 October, 20:42, by admin

About the nutritional value of elderberries I thought you might like some recipes to try. I found these using google search (keyword; “elderberry wine recipes”). I have tried a couple but I already had the juice made and most of these start with the berries. So there was some trial and error experiments happening.

Elderberry Jam Recipe 2 quarts crushed elderberriesÂ

¼ cup vinegar 6 cups sugar or honeyÂ

Combine berries, vinegar, and sugar. Bring slowly to boiling, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves. Cook rapidly until thick. As mixture thickens, stir frequently to prevent sticking. Pour boiling hot mixture into sterilized jars. Adjust lids. Process in boiling water for 5 minutes Remove jars; cool and store Yield: 6 half-pint jars.Â

Note: Elderberries should not be eaten raw. All parts of the plant contain small amounts of the toxin hydrocyanic acid, which is completely destroyed by ordinary cooking.Â

  ——————————————————————————–

Elderberry Cordial Elderberries (still on stalks)Â

Sugar ClovesÂ

Pick the fruit on a dry day and stew with the stalks in a large stainless steel saucepan, with just enough water to cover.Â

Strain through muslin squeezing to get all the juice. To each pint of juice add 1 lb of white granulated sugar and 10 cloves.Â

Boil for 10 minutes. Allow to cool and bottle in sterile bottles with good quality plastic screw-on tops making sure you distribute the cloves evenly amongst the bottles (they act as a preservative).Â

The cordial can be used immediately, and will keep well for a year or two.Â

Taken with hot water it is renowned as a guard against colds, and a glass a day through winter is a wise precaution..

I made this one and I have been drinking a cup a day since. The recipe I use is 2 Tbs Elderberry cordial and 1 of lemon juice or to taste. I use 1 Tbs of lemon juice but it really depends on how tart you like it. Experiment a little but don’t use to much more than 1 Tbs of lemon juice because it will get very tart very quickly.Â

I don’t want this post to get too long so I will post a couple more recipes tomorrow. Stay tuned. Â

Hello Everyone, Found some interesting information to pass along.

04 October, 09:23, by admin

I am sorry for not posting for a while but I have been very busy learning some important nutritional information about elderberries.

A 17th century Herbalist said about Elderberries;

The first shoots of the Common Elder boiled like asparagus, and the young leaves and stalks boiled in fat broth, do mightily carry forth phlegm and choler. The middle or inward bark boiled in water, and given in drink works much more violently; and the berries, either green or dry, expel the same humour, and are often given with good success to help the dropsy; the bark of the root boiled in wine, or the juice thereof drank, works the same effects, but much more powerfully than either the leaves or fruit. The juice of the root taken, mightily procures vomiting, and purges the watery humours of the dropsy…Â Â

Nicholas Culpeper, 17th century herbalist  Click to show  Â

These berries grow wild in the Thompson – Okanogan region of BC and I would think they would grow anywhere that has a similar climate. Growing and harvest information;

The elder flowers in June in large, flat plates of flower heads (called umbrells) made up of many tiny cream-white flowers. If you make sure they are clean of bugs, they can be eaten straight off the branches on a hot summers day. The berries can be considered ripe when the clusters begin to turn upside down. Avoid picking berries that have become over-ripe. Wash well and strip from the stalks using a dining fork. The berries can be added to apple pie (40 elderberries:60 apple) or blackberry jam (50:50). The elderberry is often known as the Englishman’s grape, and it’s nutritional values show that it is similar to the grape and more so…Â
